  • February 2010, every student contributed to building our school garden with the help of Anna Dodds from Nanaimo Foodshare and with grants from Toyota Evergreen and Coastal Community Credit Union.
  • April 2011, we created our courtyard garden and a greenhouse with help from Rona, the Serauxmen, Nanaimo Foodshare and Toyota Evergreen Foundation. This year, for the first time in many years, we have a band program with 45 students enrolled.
  • October 26-27, 2012, we celebrated our 50th anniversary with a breakfast by the Knights of Columbus for over 400 present students, staff and family members on the Friday and a luncheon by Nanaimo Foodshare for over 250 former Park Avenue alumni on the Saturday.
  • February 2013, Park Avenue School was a successful applicant for the Band Aid grant from Musicounts allocating funds for the purchase and repair of band instruments.
